Shahrukh Khan is one of the most popular actors of India. He is not only a Hindi film star but also a  successful film producer and television host. ‘Shahrukh Khan also known as “King Khan‘, “Badshah Khan‘, ‘SRK‘, ‘Badshah of Bollywood‘. He was born 2nd of November, 1965 in New Delhi, India. He is the second child of Taj Mohammed Khan and Latif Fatema. His father originally was from Peshawar of British India and was an Indian freedom fighter. He had come to New Delhi, before India’s partition. He was a well known lawyer by profession. Shahrukh’s mother was a first class magistrate and a social worker. Shahrukh also has an elder sister named Shehnaz.

Khan started his schooling from St. Colombia High School in New Delhi. He was a brilliant student in his academic carrier. He often attended cultural function and sports. For this, He won the Sword of Honour, an annual award given to student who best represents the spirit of the school. After his School life, He admitted in Hansraj College (1985 to 1988) and completed his Bachelors degree in Economics (honors). After that, he pursued a Masters Degree in Mass Communications from. Jamia Millia Islamia.

Shahrukh Khan came to Mumbai in the year 1991 after his parents’ death. Before any of his films were released, he married Gauri Chibber on 25 October 1991, who believed in Hinduism. They have two children, son Aryan and a daughter named Suhana.

At first, khan was acting a television series named “Fauji” in 1988. He played a role Aziz Mirza's “Circus” in 1989 which narrated the life of circus performers. He also  played a small role in 1989 in the English language film made for T.V named ‘In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones’, written by  famous Indian English writer Arundhati Roy.

Shahrukh Khan first Bollywood movie was “Deewana” in the year 1992. The movie was an box office hit. That movie also brought him in the limelight. He Awarded the Filmfare for Best Male Debutant actor Award. Then He played the movie in “Maya Memsaab”.

 His film “Darr” and “Baazigar” was box office hit in 1993. In the both movie he played a role of ante-hero. He won his first Filmfare Best Actor Award for his film “Baazigar”.

“Karan Arjun” and “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” were two blockbusters hit movie in 1995. The director of “Karan Arjun” was Rakesh Roshan. That’s movie became the second-highest blockbusters hit of the year. Khan’s another movie director was Aditya Chopra. His movie “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” became the highest blockbusters hit of the year. Not only this but also that’s movie had grossed over six billion US dollars. “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” also awared ten Filmfare Awards including Best Actor Award. That’s mean Shahrukh Khan won his second Best Actor Award for his movie “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”.

In the year 2001 Shahrukh Khan and his co-actress Juhi Chawla founded his home production house, Dreamz Unlimited. Their debut movie was “Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani”. That’s movie was also became a blockbusters hit. In the same year he also played a vital role as an Emperor in his flim “Asoka”. It was a historical movie.

“Devdas” was one of the turning points in his carrier. “Devdas” was a famous Bengali novel Bengali writer Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay. So the task was very difficult to play in the title role of “Devdas”. Shahrukh Khan made it easy and simple.  In the year 2002, Khan was playing the title role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's award-winning romantic movie “Devdas”. In the same year Shahrukh Khan also acted opposite Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit in the family-drama “Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam”, which was pretty popular movie.

He was nominated for the Filmfare Best Actor Award for all three of his releases in 2004, winning it for Swades.

Shahrukh Khan Success was running with a great honor and popularity. In the year 2007 he acted different type of movie named “Chak De! India”. It became the third blockbusters hit movie of the year. Chak De! India” was earning over Rs 639 million Indian Rupees. He got another Filmfare Best Actor Award for this movie. In the same year he also acted the Farah Khan's movie “Om Shanti Om”. It was also a blockbusters hit. In the year 2008 and 2009 he acted two box offices hit movie such as “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” (2008) and “Billu” (2009). In 2010 Khan's next mission was “My Name Is Khan”. It was based on a true story.  He highly praised in all over India and overseas for this movie. He won his eighth Filmfare Award for Best actor.

Shahrukh Khan next movie is “Ra.one”. It is a big budget movie. It will be the highest costly movie ever made in Boolywood. More than 175 core rupees invested for this movie. Producer of this movie is Shahrukh Khan’s wife Gauri Khan. This movie wills release 25th October, 2011.

Khan also known as a renowned producer from the year 2000. He is the owner of 2 production companies such as “Dreamz Unlimited” and “Red Chillies Entertainment”. Not only Bollywood but also Globally, Khan is considered to be one of the biggest film stars.

Apart from acting movie and production, he also participated in some Television show in recent years.  In 2007, he hosted “Kaun Banega Crorepati”, a popular game show. He hosted another game show called, “Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain”

In the year 2008, Khan home production house “Red Chillies Entertainment” became the owner of the “Kolkata Knight Riders/KKR” (a cricket team) in the BCCI-backed IPL or Indian premier league cricket competition.
